To Blog or Not to Blog...

Well, you haven't heard from me in a while, because I've just been pretty darn busy. I'm getting ready for Crossroads Church's annual Christmas production, plus three new sermon series, plus trying to keep a little family time alive during the Christmas Season. Sometimes it's hard to keep all of the balls in the air.

So, let me hear from you guys. Have you been reading my blog? Are you getting anything out of it? Should I keep this up? If no one is reading my blog, I'll probably stop.

Show me some love.

Richard - It is fun to have people read and comment on the blog. I know I have had some really great discussions on mine. It takes a little time to get some regular readers. However, I want to offer two reasons for you to keep going on your blog, even if NO ONE reads it.

First - “We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospection” Anais Nin

I think writing is something most of us do not delve into on a regular basis, and in doing so we miss out on a great tool for thought. Writing makes us slow down and articulate. It makes us wrestle with our beliefs in a way that thinking and speaking do not.

Second - The writing you spend time on now is something your children and grandchildren will pour over later. What a blessing to our posterity to be able to know us through our writing; both while we are here and after we are gone. Writing is only a part of me, but it is a part that is often not shared in verbal discourse. Your children will know you better because you write.

SO - I shall be reading your writing. I have you on my google reader list now. I haven't seen you for 20 years, so I am curious what your thoughts have become.

I would agree. Your posts are searchable on the Internet, too, so months and years from now people who are interested can still benefit from the things you post.

BTW, I'm also subscribed. It's nice to know what old friends from across the country are thinking & up to...esp when I'm too lazy to pick up the phone and call. :>)
